The program commemorated the world malaria day on Wednesday 11th of May. It started at 10:00am at the OVH energy marketing premises with the community members of Orisumbare and Marine beach in attendance and with an opening speech from Mr Elvis of the African Cleanup initiative.
Some science related personnel from the OVH Energy marketing joined in the conversation about the severity and dangers of the spread of malaria, making sure that all aspects were covered and especially speaking in different languages so that the message could be properly conveyed to the audience.
The Baale of both Marine beach and Orisumbare communities were present at the program, along with the CEO of OVH Energy marketing, Mr Stockman Hubb and the CEO of African Clean up initiative, Dr Alex Akhigbe.
After the sensitization, treated malairia nets and some refreshments were shared to over 600 of the community members of Orisumbare and Marine beach in attendance. The reared nets we hope, will combat the spread of malaria in these communities. Moreso, after the orientation to those who attended the event in the premises, after which Mr Shedrack addressed all volunteers of the activities of the day. The activities included sensitisation, sharing of stickers and the distribution of treated mosquito nets provided by our partner; OVH Energy Marketing to the people of Marine beach and Orisunmbare communities.
The community dwellers were appreciative of this and were excited of the idea of getting a free mosquito net. The Roll Back Malaria Campaign ended in success.
