The Rotary Club of Mushin, in partnership with the African Cleanup Initiative, hosted a cleanup exercise and free Covid-19 vaccination to commemorate the Rotary Day of Service and to celebrate her 117 Years Anniversary on Wednesday 23rd February 2022.
The event started at 7:30 am with a sensitization session at Ishaga Close School Complex on what the Rotary Day of Service is about, environmental awareness and cleanliness. Light refreshments were given to the pupils for their enjoyment and they expressed their gratitude towards the kind gesture.
The cleanup exercise was carried out at Idi Araba road of Lagos State. It kick-started at about 8:00 am with Mr Elvis Umunna, Programmes Officer of the African Cleanup Initiative, addressing the Rotarians and grouping them for effective division of labour. Fifty-six (56) volunteers who came from different parts of Lagos state were present to make the Rotary Day of Service an impactful one.
The volunteers and members of the community were elated as they ate, drank, danced and eagerly gathered to receive the free Covid-19 Vaccination given by selfless medical practitioners.

Total Number of Solid Waste Recovered: 328kg, Total Number of Recyclables Recovered: 8k.
Number of Persons Impacted: over 300 community members.
